18th Annual Hear here fun fest

Hear Here is an annual event started by Nick Veronico and Chris Kyroglou in 2000. In the many years that the fun fest has been held, it has been a great success thus far with over $400,000 raised for the Peter and Margery Keller Fund. The Peter and Margery Keller Fund has been established at the Hospital for Sick Children to help provide hearing aids for hearing impaired children. The fund covers the patient cost of hearing aids that is not covered by the Assistive Devices Program. Eligible families for funding are those who demonstrate financial need and who are not covered by any insurance benefits or social assistance agency.

The main focus of the event is to promote public awareness to rid people of the stereotypes and stigmas associated with hearing loss. We want to make people aware that hearing loss is not directly related to how old one is and that children do wear hearing aids as well.

The prizes awarded at the Fun Fest are generous donations given to Union Hearing Aid Centre by hearing aid manufacturers and corporations who want to sponsor the event. The hearing aid manufacturers are also present in order to answer any questions or concerns that children or parents may have. The manufacturers also present new and improved technologies that might be of interest to all age groups.

The day is also filled with raffles, entertainment, a bbq and plenty of activities for both children and adults alike.

Join us on Sunday, September 30th, 2018 for our 18th Annual Hear Here Fun Fest event at The Hangar: Downsview Park, 75 Carl Hall Road, North York, ON.
